教学大纲
This unit will focus on the heritage management process and how this varies in different cultural, political and environmental contexts around the world. An emphasis will be placed on understanding values based heritage management, the Burra Charter, the World Heritage process and key trends in heritage interpretation. Students undertaking this unit will demonstrate their understanding of heritage management processes by undertaking significance assessment, management and interpretation exercises for places (or other items) of cultural heritage significance in the 堪培拉 region.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. demonstrate knowledge of the key components of the heritage management process;
2. apply the heritage management process to a place (or other item) of heritage significance;
3. assess cultural heritage significance within a contextual understanding of culture and society.
