Possible changes to your unit's learning activities and assessment items
For the remainder of 2020, resulting from Australian Government's directives requiring physical distancing and restrictions on movement because of the COVID-19 pandemic, any exams that are required for assessment in a unit will be online exams. Online exams may also use online proctoring to help assure the academic integrity of those exams. Please contact your unit convener with any questions.
While the University has made efforts to ensure that Unit Outlines reflect a unit’s learning activities and assessment items, any changes to Australian Government directives because of the COVID-19 pandemic may require changes to these during the semester to ensure the safety and well being of students and staff. These changes will not be updated in the published unit outline, but will be communicated to you via your unit’s UCLearn(Canvas) teaching site. Any changes made will continue to meet the unit’s learning outcomes, as described in the Unit Outline.

教学大纲
This unit provides an advanced study of physiology at the cellular level with an emphasis on the three integrative systems: the nervous, the endocrine systems and the immune system. We will explore how cellular integration and cellular interaction are able to generate complex cognitive functions such as the control and maintenance of homeostasis, and the balance between health and disease.This unit will be co-taught with unit Advanced Physiology G.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Relate the interconnection of the body?s physiological control systems, homeostasis and the interrelationship of structure and function from a perspective that spans from conception to death;
2. Integrate their knowledge of the body systems to contrast normal physiology and anatomy with the effects of disease or degeneration;
3. Critically evaluate the implications of these changes;
4. Synthesise and apply this knowledge to real situations;
5. Work independently and with others as part of a group;
6. Communicate their views effectively both verbally and in writing;
7. Support their arguments with recent scientific literature; and
8. Identify, critically analyse, interpret, debate and/or role play issues raised in the unit.
