Syllabus
The ecological concepts and methods required for the adaptive management of biodiversity are examined. The focus is on the qualitative and quantitative assessment of biological populations, and the implications for management towards conservation, utilisation and pest control.
Learning Outcomes
(i) understand a set of current theories and best practice management approaches for measuring and analysing plant and animal populations and communities. This is assessed in assessments
1 to 3.
(ii) critically evaluate ecological studies, management plans and actions. This is assessed in assessments 1 to 3.
Contact Hours
Up to five hours of lectures, workshops and practical sessions a week; up to 4 days of field activities.

Principles of Ecology and Ecology & Biodiversity.
